Known only from the lower Xingu River in the vicinity of Porto de Moz, Pará state, northern Brazil.
The Xingu is a major tributary of the lower Amazon and much of its aquatic fauna is threatened due to hydroelectric construction projects.
Its form is:
Adult males have a broader head as well as more extensive odontoids on the main rays of the pectoral fin and interopercular region than females, while older males may be slightly darker.
Males are also slimmer and less stocky than females, a difference that is easily observed when the fish are viewed from above.
Its size is:
The maximum size it reaches is between 130mm and 150mm
Selling size = 3.5cm
Parameters required:
PH: between 5.5 and 7.5
Temperature can range between 23ºC and 30ºC
Aquarium size:
An aquarium with base dimensions of 120 * 45 cm should be the smallest considered.

Canned food: Bloodworms , Mysis and Artemia
