The Zebra Danio is a peaceful shoaling species that's perfect for beginners. They're often chosen as cold water fish new aquarists as they are extremely hardy, boisterous and very entertaining. They should be kept in groups of 6 or more individuals and can be kept with other peaceful fish such as Odessa Barbs, White Cloud Mountain Minnows and Sucking Loaches. Long finned fish should be avoided as they are known for nipping. The tank should have plenty of open swimming space and a tight fitting lid as these fish are accomplished jumpers.
